Visioneering Releases Two New IPTV Set-top Boxes
vPortal IPTV™ Delivers Unmatched Quality Over Broadband
Carlsbad, CA — May 28, 2009 — Visioneering Corporation, a leading developer and supplier of digital media technologies announced today the release of the vPortal IPTV™ set-top box (STB) product line that includes two models, vPortal VP-10 and VP-20, for unmatched standard definition or high definition Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) for digital home, corporate and other applications.
vPortal IPTV™ set-top boxes provide leading-edge functionality for interactive TV including:
- C2 Micro RISK technology (MIPS compatible)
- NTSC / PAL or High Definition (up to 1080i) resolution
- H.264, Windows Media Video (VC-1) or MPEG-2, ON2 and Divix
- USB 2.0 interface to connect to USB external devices
- Ethernet: works over any broadband IP network
- Operating System: Linux
- Interactive Graphical User Interface (GUI) for easy set-up and browsing
- FLASH capable for connection to You Tube, My Space and more
- Audio: Stereo input and SPDIF output
- Web Browser for direct connection to Internet
- Optional Features Include:
- Optional video capture inputs
- 40–120GB DVR for recording/playback
- Optional plastic fiber Ethernet connectivity
- Wireless: 802.11G WiFi
